thank you for asking, i use the egg as my protein treatment and for my 3b type hair i use mixed chicks deep conditioner.
but when i do the protein treatment, i beat one egg, leave it out for a bit so that it isn’t really cold, then apply it to my hair. i comb it through with a wide tooth comb and then i put a plastic cap over my head and let it sit for an hour at the least (sometimes for 2 hours depending on how much i think my hair needs to be treated)
after that, i rinse it completely out with COLD WATER (hot water will cook the egg in your hair) then after it’s completely rinsed out i wash my hair with my shampoo.
i do this twice a month.
i hope that helped, if you have any more questions about anything let me know ! :D

i’m actually on a hair journey to get my hair longer :)
with naturally curly or kinky hair, it’s hard for sebum (which is the hair’s natural oil) to go around our coils and down to the ends of our hair. this can make the ends dry and brittle to the point where they break off. that hinders hair growth. so the most important thing to do is to keep your hair and ESPECIALLY your ends moisturized. find a good deep conditioner, moisturizer. deep condition once a week and moisturize daily.
now, depending on your hair texture certain products may or may not work for you. this is where your trial and error process comes in. do you know what your actual hair texture is? 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b? if not this is a great video to explain what your hair texture maybe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOlwWiuL5DY
once you figure that out you can youtube your hair type and there will be many women who give reviews of products they have tried. just remember that these are their opinions and what works for them may not work for you. i think this is the best part of a hair journey, finding what works for you.
some people wet their hair everyday and use water as their moisturizer, followed by an oil as a sealant to lock in that moisture. oils such as:
- jojoba oil
- coconut oil
- castor oil
- argan oil
- olive oil
each one serves a purpose and i can explain them further if needed.
you also need a balance between moisture and protein. you can buy protein treatments at your local beauty supply store, but i personally use 1 egg (or how many ever needed for the length of hair) beat it, and apply it to my hair like a conditioner and cover my hair with a shower cap. i do this twice a month. this works for any hair type.
last but not least, try to avoid heat and trim your ends as needed. trimming your ends stops splits ends from breaking and allows you to see growth but trimming too frequent doesn’t allow you to see growth.
i tried to keep it short and sweet lol. but if there’s anything you didn’t understand, or need more information on don’t be afraid to let me know! have fun with this and remember it takes patience.
and you don’t have to be anon, i don’t bite :)
